Free Icon: Heart Bubble by Vocalization And a new cosplay means a new journal!
I'm really sorry for my long absence but this year has been a crazy busy one for me... I've only made two costumes so far and none of the photoshoots I need to ; ;

About my newest cosplay: I've been playing Love Live! since December and Nozomi Tojo is my absolute favourite school idol ♡ I fell in love with many of her outfits but decided on the Fairy Tale version to be my first one because I already had most of the materials. Besides the costume itself, I also stylized and decorated the wig, which is one of the most distinctive parts of this version. The WIP follows bellow:

I planned to make this especially for a con, Central Comics Fest, to which I was invited to present a cosplay workshop and to be one of the judges for Eurocosplay 2015 Portugal qualifying round. Here is a quick photo taken there:

The place outside was so pretty! I wish I had had more time to take some photos... Anyway, I'm hoping to do a photoshoot soon^^

Free Icon: Heart Bubble by Vocalization This is officially my first cosplay of the year!

Elin is my favourite race from TERA Older and wiser than they appear, elins may have a peculiar forthright manner but they are also very dedicated and protective, especially towards the nature. I've been wanting to cosplay an Elin for a long time but I was undecided about which type/costume etc., until the day I joked that I would make the rare Parlor Maid uniform if I happened to get it on the Elin Housemaid Lootbox. Until the present day, I still can't believe I got that item but the truth is that I kept my word and made the costume:

Something kind of different from what I usually do but a great experience overall. Searching and gathering all the materials surely took me a lot of time, as I wanted to recreate the costume and accessories in a more realistic way. Hope I could achieve it and that you like the results!

Next planned new cosplay is only for August but as I’m really busy I'll probably start it pretty soon. Visit my cosplay page for more updates! Meanwhile, I hope I can do some photoshoots with old costumes. Including this one^^

Free Icon: Heart Bubble by Vocalization A new cosplay project means a new journal, so here it is... FINALLY!
I know it has been awhile since the last one but I'm grateful that you kept on supporting me, here and on my cospage. Thank you very much ♡

My latest cosplay was Sheryl Nome from Macross Frontier (yes, once again) but this time I chose one of my favourite versions from the official arts. Actually, seems like not many people even know this illustration ahah I made this costume especially for a con, Central Comics Fest, to which I was invited to give a cosplay workshop and to be one of the judges for Eurocosplay 2014 Portugal qualifying round. At first, I was planning to do something from TERA but then I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to finish it on time, since I was on finals season at college. So, I decided to let that project on-hold and work on this simple and comfy, yet pretty detailed, cosplay instead. Enough of speeches, let me share the WIP:

As you can see, I even made the jewelry for this cosplay: bracelet, necklace, crystal hair extensions and headpiece. I guess that was probably what took me more time! As for the dress, I've worked non-stop on it for 2 days after my finals (excluding the patterning and fabrics cut that were made prior) and I was so relieved that I could finish this on time! I wasn't really confident about my costume at first but in the end I like how it looks and I need to say that I really love the train of the dress! The shoes were bought and heavily modified in order to look similar to the reference. About the microphone, I've only made the fur ball and the velvet ribbon, since it was commissioned to a talented portuguese costume/prop maker and good friend of mine, AsheriaWorkshop (: Check out her page too [link]

Here is the final result:

Getting this chance to thank the organization for inviting me to be there again, to congratulate not only the chosen Eurocosplay representative but all the contestants because they surely were amazing (still, good luck for the finals to both AnaIsabelaSantos and KonCookie) and also to thank Carancerth for coming here as a guest, being a co-judge and making the cosplay workshop with me^^

Free Icon: Heart Bubble by Vocalization One month later... Hi again! Thank you all for your support here and on my cospage ♥

Today I’m bringing some WIP details about my Rinoa Heartilly cosplay^^ She is my second fav female character from the Final Fantasy series (along side with Garnet), so I’m happy that I finally decided to cosplay her. I was really insecure about it since I think Rinoa is so expressive and has very specific facial traits... But last year I casually found a good piece of fabric for the duster and arm warmers on sale and I was like 'okay, maybe I should really consider about doing this once for all'.

Here’s a close-up of the fabric

I made the duster and arm warmers back then in February because I had some free time and planned to do the rest of the costume slowly during the year, since I would only be able to use it on Spring time. Next convention was on April and I was planning to cosplay Aika with her winter uniform (that I did last year but never got a chance to use it) but once again the weather was already getting warm here, so I tried to finish Rinoa cosplay instead. Also, I really wanted to do my favourite weapon of hers: the Shooting Star ☆ I wasn’t sure if I was going to have enough time to do everything as I wanted but I gave it a try, anyway. Here are some WIP photos:

(repeat the last two photos for eight wings and hundreds of little feathers ahah)
The wig was also stylized by me and Linkster-Art^^ It was just a long straight black wig, so we had to cut and comb it properly and sewn the caramel highlights on both sides of it.

Overall, I’m happy with this cosplay! I really thought that I was not fit for Rinoa (reasons stated above, plus some personal insecurities) but I tried my best until the very end and I’m glad that I got such a positive feedback. I loved to sew this costume and it was such a challenge to make the Shooting Star look realistic (according to my own interpretation of it, of course). Although I did not have time to finish the firing mechanism piece of her weapon and to add the silver buckles on the boots, I’ll finish it later for a proper photoshoot (:

Just some con photos (with my best friend Inoriin on the last one)

Free Icon: Heart Bubble by Vocalization It's been a long time since the last journal and this is actually the first one of 2014 *woops* It’s also gonna be a quick one, sorry, but I just had to share my last WIPs with you. Anyway, I've been always busy with college, so it’s getting even more dificult for me to make regular journals... But there’s a 'good thing': as most of you already know, I’ve made a fb cosplay page where you can be always updated. There I share some wips in real time, previews, funny photos, etc. Also it’s easier to stay in touch with you all there. So, if you want to keep more updated and support me there too with a ‘like’ it would be great (:

Well, starting with Sheryl Nome from Macross Frontier (Kindan no Elixir - devil nurse), I finished this costume last year. Remember when I cosplayed Alice (wonderland ver.) and said I was, actually, doing that dress for a totally different character? It was supposed to be for Sheryl since the begining. Also, back then I promised to share some WIP photos when I did this cosplay, so here they are:

Unfortunately, I couldn't take decent photos since the weather was terrible outside that day ; ; but I uploaded a close-up here anyway (where you can't see my cutie tail meh). I'll need to do a photoshoot with this cosplay soon^^

In other news, you may already know that I cosplayed Homura Akemi too. Everytime I try to explain my feelings for her, in many different ways, I always end up spoiling, so all I can say is that I really feel identified with her personality and with the way she acts a lot! Thank you very much SuiTania for letting me borrow your costume again and give me the possibility to be one of my most dearest chars for one day ♡ Also thanks a lot to Lilly-Kitty, for being such an amazing photographer. I'm in love with the photos!

At the moment, I’m mostly working on a secret cosplay and on my costume for the next convention (hint on the photo bellow). For more WIPs stay tuned to my fb cosplay page^^
